A cinematic exploration of a shifting place & time. The
inaugural Margate Film Festival launches 3rd – 7th October 2018
featuring new works from local artists, live performances, debut
features from British and International filmmakers, shorts, archive
footage, live film scores, talks, family workshops and more.
The festival has over 15 events across 6 venues and 5 days.
We
have been humbled by the creativity and community spirit of Margate, of
all the individuals who have chipped in their time and skills to make
the project come to life. A festival of this size is a huge effort,
weeks of work, and lot of financial risk and yet - it's entirely
unfunded, unsponsored, non-profiting and carried by a small team of
voluntary enthusiasts.
We don't intend to squash our ambitions just yet. In fact, the festival is just a start - we have MUCH bigger plans to come.
